Roger Wagner
Cutting
Roger Wagner grew up on a ranch in Southern Australia, where, by the age of 16, he was training cutting horses. Wagner won the Australian Futurity three times and the Australian Derby five times. He was inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame in 1997.
Then, to improve his skills and increase his winnings, he moved to the United States and, in 2001, started showing here. In 2002, he was a finalist in the Super Stakes and finished third in the Super Stakes Classic. In 2004, he won the Memphis Futurity, placed second in the NCHA Futurity, fourth in the Super Stakes and earned the Rider of the Year Award. In 2005, he was inducted into the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame. In 2006, Wagner won the Futurity Open, the Augusta Futurity, placed second in the Classic Open and placed third in the Western Horseman Cup Open. His lifetime earnings total $1.87 million.
Wagner lives in Weatherford, Texas.
