Dave Golden

Dave Golden
Ambassador and Clinician

Dave Golden has been a professional horse trainer, judge and clinician for more than 30 years. His education at Texas A&M University focused on horse nutrition. He attended A&M as an undergraduate and graduate student and then returned to teach horse courses for several years in the early 1970s.

Over the years, Dave has collected his share of impressive titles, but the true reflection of this very dedicated professional is seen in the record of his youth students. Kids from the Golden barn have won AQHYA World Championships and AQHA World Championships, have garnered many World Show finalist finishes and include an almost endless list of Superior and ROM Performance and Halter winners. There is no doubt that Dave Golden has a “golden touch” with young riders. His love of horses and of the kids who ride them is apparent in everything he does. Since 1972, Golden has taught at the Youth Horsemanship School at Sam Houston State University.

His horsemanship and expertise are highly respected in the industry. Over the years, Golden has judged major AQHA shows all over the country, including the huge AQHA World Show. In addition, he has been asked to judge the prestigious Youth World Cup in Germany and the Dutch Championships in The Netherlands.

Since 1973, Golden has devoted much of his free time as a 4-H Adult Leader. Over the years, he has been able to teach generations of young riders the benefits of a well-constructed health program for their horses.

Dave Golden Quarter Horses is located in Madisonville, Texas. Since 1993, this dedicated horseman has been a Purina Influential.
