Brent Wright
Reiner and Trainer

Reining horse trainer Brent Wright lives in Ottawa, Kan. with his wife and son. Riding 3-year-old Custom Red Berry, he won the reserve championship at the 2001 NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City, collecting $22,538. Wright rode Custom Red Berry to win the National Reining Horse Association Derby Championship in May 2001. He was also co-champion title at the Quarter Horse Congress Futurity.

Wright farmed for 15 years while training colts. He attended college at Baker University where he earned a degree in Physical Education. But his main interest has always been horses. His love of horses stems from time spent riding with his grandfather while growing up in Iowa. He began roping and enjoyed other horse activities.

When he attended the World Quarter Horse Show, his desire to become involved in the world of reining ignited. He now devotes his time to training and developing his own world champion horses with his son Todd. Wright continues to rope in jackpots and other local events. Time spent away from the barn is spent enjoying his family.
