Beezie Madden

Starting off 2008 with a bang, Beezie and Authentic successfully won both Grand Prix events at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida. The first win in the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round VIII was only a warm-up victory for the $200,000 CN WorldWide Grand Prix.
2007 continued to be another successful year for Beezie. She and Authentic began by winning the $75,000 Grand Prix of Tampa and the $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational in April. Beezie then went on to win the Nexen Cup Derby for CND 175,000 at the Spruce Meadows National and the CN Performance Grand Prix for CND 100,000 at the Spruce Meadows Continental with Judgement in Calgary, Alberta.
In July Beezie and Authentic traveled on to Germany to win the prestigious Aachen Rolex Grand Prix.
Beezie also represented the USA on the Samsung Super League with Judgement winning 200,000CHF for the Samsung Nations Cup in Hickstead, England.
Beezie finished six weeks of competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival in March of 2006 as “Leading Rider” for the Florida circuit. For her efforts, she walked away with a bonus of $100,000.00 courtesy of FTI Consulting and the FTI Rider Challenge.
At Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta Canada Beezie finished as the Leading Rider in June of 2006 assisted by winning the $170,000 Shell Cup Derby with Judgement. Authentic repeated his 2005 victory of the prestigious ATCO Power $200,000 Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Calgary in July and won the $75,000 New Albany Classic in October.
Also, in 2006, Beezie represented the U.S. in LaBaul, France and Aachen, Germany and returned to Germany to compete in the World Equestrian Games in August. With her Olympic mount; Authentic, Beezie brought home the US Team and individual Silver Medals.
To finish the year, Beezie won the grand finale of the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament by beating out the six top riders from the week in the Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup.
Madden’s 2005 victory in the $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational in Tampa, FL gave her the advantage of finishing the Florida winter circuit having won more prize money than any other rider.
Also in 2005, she represented the U.S. on an all-woman team in the first Samsung Super League series in La Baul, France, Rome, Italy and St. Gallen, Switzerland. Madden rode with the winning nations Cup teams at LaBaul, France and Aachen, Germany and was on the team for six out of the eight competitions that led to the US winning the 2005 Super League Series.
Between European competitions, she added to her winnings placing 2nd in the $170,000 Shell Cup Derby and 1st in the One Million dollar CN International at Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta Canada.
In 2004, Beezie Madden with her mount Authentic, charged the Athens Olympics with double clean rounds in Show Jumping, assisting to bring home the Team Gold Medal for the United States.

In 2003, Madden started off with several wins at the Winter Equestrian Festival including a win in the $50,000 Idle Dice Classic and in the $100,000 Cosequin U.S. Open Jumper Championship, Presented by CN in Wellington, FL. She was also on the U.S. team that won the Samsung Nation’s Cup. Madden went on to help the U.S. team win the Gold Medal in the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In the fall of 2003, Madden traveled to Europe and captured the Mercedes German Masters and the Audi Grand Prix in Maastricht Netherlands..
In 2000, Madden found victory again in the Valkenswaard Grand Prix in The Netherlands. Here she beat Barcelona Olympic Gold medallist, Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum, by 0.31 seconds in a four-horse jump-off, becoming only the second American to win a Pulsar Crown event.
Madden was one of 12 riders who contributed to the USET’s win of the inaugural Samsung Nations’ Cup Series in 1997.
In 1993, Madden finished 5th at the Volvo World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden and won three major Grand Prix events.
By 1989, Beezie was named the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year. From there she has been named: the American Grand Prix Associated Rider of the Year, 1997, 2004; USEF Equestrian of the Year and the recipient of the prestigious William Steinkraus Trophy and Whitney Stone cup, 2005 and 2006.
Additionally, Authentic was named the USEF Show Jumping Horse of the Year in 2005 and in 2006. In 1997 her mount dynamite was named AGA Horse of the Year.
Madden was the first woman and the first U.S. rider to reach the #3 ranking on the world ranking list (achieved in 2004). She was also the first woman to pass the million dollar mark in earnings for showjumping.
