Gembo was purchased for use in our therapeutic riding program for children with handicaps. After spending his life in the show ring, he was ready to "relax". Boy, was he in for a surprise! Gembo has proven to be the most patient, forgiving, and loveable horse in our program. My son, who is severely handicapped, doesn't speak, but somehow he and Gembo "communicate". Gembo's tireless efforts at helping our children gain confidence in their equine abilities, and increasing their self esteem has been a joy to behold. Sadly, Gembo retired from active service in our program this year, due to some physical problems he is experiencing. He is still the horse that the kids run for to pet, brush, groom, and "talk" to! Gembo has been such an asset to our program, and at 25 years of age, is still one of our most handsome horses. Gembo and Jonah are shown here, proudly displaying their blue ribbon!
